Free Online Fax Services

There are literally hundreds of online services that offer the ability to send and receive faxes electronically. Unfortunately, the majority of these sites only offer a limited time “free trial,” which is followed by a monthly subscription charge.
But there are a few sites that offer a true “free” fax service, although each of them works slightly differently. No site is perfect for everyone, but these companies offer reliable, easy-to-use fax services.
FaxZero.com offers a very straight-forward free fax service. Visitors to the web site simply enter the sender and receiver information and a fax number. You can fax DOC, .DOCX, or .PDF files or input text directly into a window that will be directly faxed to the recipient. Their free service does have some limitations. Each fax has an ad included on the cover page and faxes are limited to three pages and a cover sheet. Users are also limited to five faxes per day. If you need a slightly more robust option, you can pay $1.99 to send up to 15 pages without an ad. FaxZero.com does not offer a free incoming fax service. The fax service is limited to the U.S. and Canada.
GotFreeFax.com is very similar to FaxZero.com, with a couple of important distinctions. You’re limited to faxes no longer than three pages and cannot send more than two faxes per day. Unlike some other services, you can only send faxes using PDF or DOC files. But the free service doesn’t include any ads on the cover page. GotFreeFax.com also offers several levels of paid fax service, from a one-time charge per fax to monthly business options. They do not offer an incoming fax service and the faxes are limited to delivery in the U.S. and Canada.
Faxorama.com may be the most flexible of the free fax services. Users can fax up to five pages and the cover sheet does not include any advertising. They are also able to use a wide variety of file formats, including DOC, DOCX, RTF, GIF, JPG, JPEG, PDF, TIF, XLS, XLSX, TXT, PNG, BMP or WPS files. You can only fax twice a day with the free service and they also offer a premium fax service for users who need to send longer faxes. They do not offer an incoming fax service and the faxes are limited to delivery in the U.S. and Canada.
FreeFaxButton.com is a somewhat different type of free fax service. You can only fax messages that you enter directly into a text window on the website. But you can fax that message to more than 40 countries worldwide, which most other free fax services don’t offer. Users are limited to two messages per day and to prevent spam the sender’s IP address is included in the message.
